Spirit or spirits what exactly are spirits? Most religions suggest that there are good spirits and bad spirits, just as they maintain that there is good and evil. You may often hear someone talking about a spirit that lives in their home and the unexplainable occurrences that exist along with this spirit... slamming doors, creaking floors, voices. They sometimes suggest that these are bad spirits because they cause fear, but it is impossible to know if they are good or bad without knowing them better. Although the vast majority of people believe in the existence of these spirits in some form or fashion, they rarely stop to consider the source or reason for their existence. Why are they here? What is their purpose?

All of us have spirits, or as I like to refer to them, spirit guides. I believe that these are ALWAYS good spirits. It is sometimes hard to comprehend that a higher power or spirit guide is always with us to protect and guide us because there is not always obvious, visible evidence of such. We cannot see them, touch them, or produce a picture of them. However, we all know that it exists through experiences we have in our lives. All of us have memories of challenging or traumatic events when we may have perceived we were not alone. Perhaps it was a serious car accident that you left free of injury, a phone call at just the right moment, or a feeling of intuition at a critical decision point. These events all represent our spirit guides standing with us and assisting us.

Our connection to spirit is a divine source and is always available to us; we just need to be open to making a connection to this source, which has been guiding us since we were born. Spirit is energy and energy is our connection to spirit, each person has the ability to connect to this energy. Energy is our connection to this divine source that we call spirit. This connection to divine energy is accessible for all that are willing to stay open to the possibilities of connection.

As we start to grow and mature most of us loose this direct connection to spirit, but spirit never looses it's direct connection to us. Each and every one of us has a team of guides assisting us on our path in this lifetime. Most often these guides are loved ones who have passed, and are now serving as our spirit guides. This is why communication with them and assistance from them is often referred to as connection with "The other side".

I never knew I would be so closely connected to those they call spirits or spirit guides. My first connection with the other side was through prayers as a child growing up in a religious home. As an adult my connection to spirit came to me on my yoga mat through my yoga and meditation practice. My connection to the spirit world and confidence in it's existence came through my own believe that I was being directed by a higher power or divine spirit. I knew from a very early age that I was not traveling solo and that I had a team of spirit guides to assist me on my path.

When I was born, my twin sister and I weighed less than 3 pounds each and the doctor told my Mother that I was most likely not going to make it through the night. Upon hearing this information my Mother immediately came into the nursery and started to pray. And as my mother will say, "And then Molly you turned the corner...." Spirit is always with us. For me this is just one of hundreds of direct confirmations of the existence of my connection to spirit guides.

In my work as a Medium, I provide Readings to clients who are seeking a direct connection to their own spirit guides. These clients have either lost their ability to connect to their guides, or are seeking greater clarity or direction from their guides. During these Readings I channel spirits that travel with that person and deliver messages from the other side. Spirit will generally come through with detailed information and images that allow me to verify the identity and existence of the spirit with my client. Spirit will then provide messages of guidance, hope, healing, love... most often leave the person receiving the messages with a sense of ease, comfort, joy, and healing!

I am often amazed at the unshakable strength of spirit to come into a Reading and get their message passed on. In many of my Readings spirit is so impatient in wanting to get their message through that I barely get time to say hello to my client. Spirit comes barging in with a connection and message for me to pass along to the client. These times are very rewarding, as I am convinced in these instances that the client has been unable to "Feel" their spirit guides for a very long time and the guides are anxious to assist.

In my work as a Reiki Master and Energy Healer I provide hands-on healing by channeling energy through my hands; the energy that I am channeling is spirit. This spirit connection in the healing session allows my client to feel at ease, peaceful and relaxed. During the healing sessions my clients can feel the presence of their own spirit guides in the room. This Energy Work heightens the connection to spirit, and many Energy Work clients end up seeking a Reading for more information and connection.

Although I feel blessed to have been given my heightened ability to channel spirit with such great clarity, I want to emphasize that each of us has the ability to connect to spirit, with or without a Medium or Reiki Master. Each and every one of us has the tools to connect to spirit and ask for guidance, support, love, direction, healing, and peace. Our spirit guides are always with us and we are never alone on our journey in this lifetime.

I would encourage anyone who feels they have lost their connection to spirit to re-focus their efforts on this critical aspect of their lives. I have seen so many so-called miracles occur for those who have maintained this connection. I have seen tremendous comfort, miraculous healing, successful entrepreneurship, amazing joy, and unequaled peace; all of which is available to each and every one of us through a connection with spirit.
